FARGO, ND — North Dakota State men’s basketball has added a new recruit through the transfer portal.
Former VMI guard Brennan Watkins announced his commitment to NDSU on Tuesday afternoon.
Watkins led VMI in scoring last season (15 points per game) and hails from Kearney, Mo. The 5-11 senior to be brings 54 games of experience after starting 24 contests last season and playing in 30 as a freshman in 2021-22 before missing all of 2022-23 with injury.
Watkins joins NDSU on the heels of the Bison losing multiple players — including all-league forward Andrew Morgan (Nebraska) and veteran guard Boden Skunberg (grad transfer, Illinois State) — to the portal earlier this offseason.
NDSU’s incoming recruiting class now includes Watkins, Treyson Anderson (6-10, Lincoln, Neb.), Carson Smith (6-6, Salt Lake City, Utah), and Andy Stefonowicz (6-2, Minnetonka, Minn.).
