FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State’s football season opener at Colorado will be nationally televised on ESPN with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. MT on Thursday, Aug. 29, from Folsom Field in Boulder.
NDSU, under first-year head coach Tim Polasek, will be playing Colorado for the first time in program history. The Bison went 11-4 last season and advanced to the NCAA FCS semifinals for the 12th time in 13 years.
Colorado is entering its second year under head coach Deion Sanders. The Buffaloes, who finished 4-8 last season, are returning to the Big 12 Conference after playing 13 seasons in the Pac-12 Conference.
This will be NDSU’s fifth nationally televised opener and the first since the 2016 FCS Kickoff win over Charleston Southern on ESPN. Others were the 2015 FCS Kickoff loss at Montana (ESPN), 2014 win at Iowa State (Fox Sports 1), and 2013 win at Kansas State (Fox Sports 1).
North Dakota State has a 35-6 record in nationally televised games since beginning Division I play in 2004. The Bison are 8-2 on ESPN.
