Former Bison Defensive Ends Coach, Jamar Cain has had quite the meteoric rise through coaching circles and now it will continue at the NFL level. Cain was named the new Pass Rush Specialist for the Denver Broncos.
The #Broncos are hiring LSU run game coordinator/DL coach Jamar Cain as their pass rush specialist, per source. Cain’s name has been popular with NFL clubs in years past. Now he’ll join Sean Payton’s staff, working closely with the DL and OLBs under new DC Vance Joseph.

Cain last spent time coaching at LSU for the 2022 season under Head Coach Brian Kelly. LSU went 10-4 and won the Vrbo Citrus Bowl over Purdue 63-7
Cain spent three seasons at NDSU from 2014-16 and helping lead the Bison to a 40-5 record and FCS National Championships in 2014 and 2015. He coached several impact players while at NDSU, including 2014 Buck Buchanan Award winner Kyle Emanuel.
Since NDSU Cain went to Fresno State coaching the defensive line from 2017-18 then the same position with Arizona State in 2019 for his first Power-5 job. Oklahoma Head Coach, Lincoln Riley hired Cain in 2020to be the Defensive Ends and Outside Linebackers Coach, helping lead the Sooners to a 20-4 cumulative record, the 2020 Big 12 conference title and victories in the Cotton and Alamo Bowls.
Last season Denver finished last in the NFC West with a 5-12 record. They hired former New Orleans, Saints Head Coach Sean Payton this offseason to lead the franchise. Vance Joseph is the Defensive Coordinator for the Broncos after having the same position with the Arizona Cardinals the past four seasons. Joseph was also the Broncos Head Coach from 2017-18.
